I honestly think the factory SE wheels look great as-is.

Of the bronze-dipped wheels I’ve seen, typically the color is less saturated and a bit darker, even in the lighting you have.

Like this:

Kinja'd!!!

It’s almost a brown look in real life (could actually be pretty cool...)

Kinja'd!!!

i have the urge to actually do this

I think if you played with the color a little it would look better. It looks too orange

Yeah but dip is removable (if applied right) and grey on silver is so... bland.

That looks better the longer I look at it, honestly.

Yeah. My car just desperately needs a splash of color.

I dunno, I kinda like the silver/gray. It’s not bland, it’s... understated. Subtle. Etc.

Personally I have thing about mixing metallic colors. What about a deep tobacco color to match the interior?

That’s a really good thought.

Nope. Not a fan of the bronze.

Howabout bright copper?

I think the wheel gap contributes more to the odd look than the color combo. Not saying the gap is bad, I am a fan of the not-slammed look on NBs but that color combo would be more appropriate on some 15x8 wheels with zero offset and ride height closer to the ground.

But I like not scraping and also having money.

Also, white could work. This was the only picture I could find in grey, please ignore the unnecessary amount of stance lol:

Kinja'd!!!

I find that white works well with darker colors at providing contrast. I liked the color on my car, if only my fenders didnt eat my tires:

Well yes, something more reasonable can work haha. I am extremely happy with the flyin miata coils that I have. Those did not break the bank at all and I can go as low as I want. But I also want to make it over speed bumps so I havent gone crazy with it. Overall, was a great way to replace 150k miles stock equipment.

Problem is with my current setup when I get tires and a sway bar I have a chance at being competitive at autocross. If I change my spring setup I’m suddenly in a different class where I’ll need a LOT MORE money/work to be competitive again.

Kinja'd!!! Wrong Wheel Drive (41%) > Jake - Has Bad Luck So You Don't Have To

Well you could always just go Koni yellows then. I have found ES to be far too competitive and all about the 200TW tires. I would much rather run slicks for cheaper in CSP and then they dont really have much in the way of restrictions. And in my region there are a couple of guys who run CSP with minimal mods too so I actually stand a chance to beat them. I have found that in ES I just always got destroyed by people with 20+ years of experience and the occasional MR2 that would show up. And STR is even worse with the S2ks dominating there.

Try gunmetal? I went with that combo on my last ride, dark gray metallic with gunmetal wheels, I like it. It’s not matte black, but not bright silver either. Might be a good combo.

Yeah, I love gunmetal and will probably go that route but it’s still not a *color*. I’m so sick of monochrome 50-shades-of-grey cars like my NA was.

I was gonna get some 240TW tires and eventually go the Koni yellow route. I’m the only ES competitor with an NB2 as well as the only one with a hardtop, so I’ve got the stiffest chassis you can possibly have. I’m hoping that gives me an edge.

Well yeah with the right tires you can certainly do well with that setup. I caught the mod bug and there is no going back now!
